Tragedy at Newtown, CT

So much has been written, discussed and on sad occasion, shouted about the shooting at Newtown, Connecticut. Now is the time for healing and reflection. We do not proclaim to have answers for any of the issues raised by this tragedy, but perhaps a ray of hope. A small contribution toward a future possibility of these things not happening any more.

One of the issues raised so clearly by this tragedy is the availability of good and valuable mental health and support services to anyone and everyone in our country. Do the people of this country still have the old notion that these things are not to be discussed?

What is the first thing that happens when a family is in crisis? Do people circle the wagons, gather resources and tackle the challenges? Well, they usually panic first, don’t know who to call and then hide. But when families are open to assistance, when people give themselves over to the able care offered by so many in the public sector, they avail themselves to the good works that are happening every day in so many corners of our world.

At Haven of Hope, City Within a City, we have created a whole family approach to dealing with crises and our deepest hope is that our services and solutions will be the kind of support that people come to rely on and that the community will know and refer to in good times and bad.

Won’t you please click the link below and donate toward building HOHCWC’s ongoing efforts? All donations go toward creating a more robust offering of services and furthering our goals of helping entire families. Help us help others, please donate now.
